Summer has come early here at Metroline, with CrossNineTroll turning in an EP of sweet mid-tempo burners, greased up and good to go. Get your shades on.
The heavy house vibes are in full effect in Is A Thang. A tight percussion groove, muscly kicks and a punishing sub bass give the tune a dark heart. Stabs, percussion and heavily-sedated vocals are woven together to give things real movement.
Unspoken Words is carried along by a warm bass pulse and a rich and complex rhythm. Percussion blends with the bass to create an intricate but tracky techno roller. While Forma Matika steers things nicely towards Sei Es Drum territory - understated but complex percussion patterns weave between the beats to build a hypnotic, highly atmospheric track. Who said to was too soon to revive the hoover?
Snilloc steps up to remix Is A Thang, drawing out the track's classic elements and upping the bounce factor. The result is a deep, dark monster, with NYC snare skills in full effect. And if you think the Snilloc remix is deep, you'll need your scuba gear for Acumen & Timid Boy's take. It's lights off and heads down for this resonating sci-fi brute!
