BODJ comes to Metroline with an EP that ranges from brutal warehouse destruction to fluid latin groove.
Egoiste is a straight-up pounder for the dirty dancefloor. Stripped down and pumped-up, this track is pure rolling thunder. There isn't a warehouse in the world too big for this bad boy.
Fulvio has a funkier flavor with its sparkling percussion and light-touch keys. Will appeal to the drinks-on-the-dancefloor brigade as well as the hardened house heads. Sweet!
Getting sweaty like Nile Rodgers on the floor at the Robert Johnson, Ring My Bell might be the real gem of this EP. Its melodic groove, Latin breaks and relentless kicks put in mind of early Hardgroove releases - techno that's build to last.
So Called is a no-nonsense motor city booty-shaker. Nice layered percussion and tight kicks give the track body, a deep bassline gives it a comforting rumble. And then those synths creep up through the mix and worm their way into your head… infectious, and a little twisted.
The Dub Mix of So Called puts the original's synth a bass lines to work, and both do their best to out-space each other. It's a reverb-soaked, blissed-out beauty waiting to be dropped once no smoking signs have been switched off.
