Looking back in the days, there wasn’t any doubt that music will take special place in Dimitri’s life. Growing up in the Balkans, in the post communist era, the crucial first step came in 2004 when he bought his first professional equipment. Creating buzz on the dancefloor was familiar to him since that moment.
The man behind the influential labels Alboratory and The Next Gen, Dimitri is known for playing and producing a wide range of electronic sounds, from deep tech house to dub techno.
We welcome Dimitri to the Metroline Limited stable with this exciting four track EP.
The EP title track Sweven is ethereal and moody. Percussive
elements and a pulsating bassline combine to build a surging rhythm for sharp synths and creepy vocals to hang on to.
1809 bring some machine funk vibe to the EP. The raw and metallic percussions lead the way while lush pads and 8 bit synth noises rise through the track.
Tryp does what it says on the tin. The huge bassline keeps the dark, trippy and sinister vibe of the track well in its place. You can hear Dimitri’s clever drum programming here again and his crafty use of synths, efx and noises.
We have been venturing in dub territory over at Metroline of late and the closing track Ponzi Scheme falls exactly under that category.
Studio 1 vibes with echo and delay but also shuffled up micro percussions, underwater noises and cut up vocals punctuate the huge and relentless groove!
